All from his imagination. Painting of cityscapes from memory. He started painting at a very young age and his work expand over 50 years.
Al’s earliest influences were from his Uncle Walter Quinn an artist here in San Diego. He taught Al how to sketch with an emphasis on things you imagine, enjoy, things you feel, things that touch you emotionally, and that inspire you to express and create. All of these elements are seen in his work in a contemporary abstract way.
He uses all mediums Oils, Acrylics, mixed media and water color. Painting on panel board, canvas, and cold press paper.
Al began his journey as an artist in high school. His work being shown in two successful exhibits. He has studied under local artists like Jim Millard and Brien Weisz.
