Richard Messenger has been painting in San Diego over 30 years. Self taught artist, very expressive work, wonderful colors and has his unique technique. His oil strokes are thick and catch the essence of his subjects beautifully, like a sword that strikes the point right to your heart. His work is poetic and innocent. His flowers and portraits are vibrant and at the same time melancholy.
