Eleanor Greer (Eleanor G Mazzini) is an artist based in San Diego, CA. Her work consists primarily of paintings that express an interest in observing and recording the specifics of daily spaces. Eleanor makes paintings that explore her curiosity of the built environment as it abuts, interacts with and stamps over the natural world. Her surrounding environment provides the impetus for drawings and photographs which become the lexicon used when composing a new painting. Time plays a key role in Eleanor’s work and she works in a heavily layered way, often reworking sections of a painting to cover or to expose an area, placing equal importance in the visible as well as in the importance of what lies invisibly beneath the surface. Eleanor has her her MFA in Painting and Printmaking from San Diego State University.
