When you start over, you tend to see life from a new perspective and with some distance…I watched myself creating roots, playing the social games, buying a house, a car, clothes, and I even enjoyed being able to pay my bills! What struck me was the change due to the American perception: Before owning a house, I was not taken seriously. I felt I was reduced to simply being a woman, or French or just an artist. Now I was legitimate because I had made money.
16 x 20 inches, acrylic on wood, framed.
